Pervasive's Partner Conference: Velocity a News Release written by Chris Ogden 10/18/1999

We're back from Austin and Pervasive's every 18 month partner's conference. "Velocity" was a truly impressive event- well planned, executed, and full of content and networking. Pervasive invested a tremendous amount in the event including a terrific location, setup, schedule, solid food and fun, and perhaps most important for many people, the presence of much of Pervasive's staff (including much of the Toronto development office). I was fortunate to spend significant time with Ron Harris (CEO) and his management team. From everything said and unsaid, Tango is poised to reach a market presence equal to its technical elegance. Additionally, Tango 2000, with it's XML and object focus, is a huge upgrade that we are ready to embrace. My session, "Advanced Tango Tips and Tricks" was in the largest session room (by a factor of 2x) and was packed (unfortunately, we even ran out of handouts). Afterwards, we were gratified by the tremendous response (eg, "this was the best session of the show", "this one session alone made coming to the show worthwhile"). It was terrific to see the interest and support of other Tango developers! InfoMatters decided to give away one of our modules to illustrate our tips and tricks. Pervasive has said that the powerpoint presentation and the code will posted to their website. Additionally, we'll be posting Mac for FileMaker and MS Access versions on our website later this week. We'll send an eamil to everyone signed up when it's up.
